The next time you’re at your desk and you want to increase your performance, RELAX.

Now, if you don’t want to do yoga in front of your colleagues give this 30-second body scan exercise a try instead.

Continue looking at your screen, but instead of focusing on anything, focus all of your attention onto the top of your head. See how it feels or any sensations that you might notice.

After a few seconds, focus all of your attention onto your forehead or your nose and once again note any feelings or sensations there.

Then give your shoulders a try and rinse and repeat that process every few seconds until you’re finished at the bottom of your body.

Chest, hips, knees, feet – whatever.

When you’re finished take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and you should feel yourself start to relax.

If not take another deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and enjoy the investment that you’ve just made in your performance.
