What’s good Big Life Mindset family??!! Today, we’re going to talk about a topic that I’m sure many of you have been struggling with: building self-confidence and recognizing your value.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been there – I know I have. Maybe you feel like you’re not good enough at your job, or you’re nervous about social situations, or you’re just generally unsure of yourself. But the good news is, self-confidence is something that can be learned and developed over time.

Identifying your strengths and weaknesses

One of the first steps to building self-confidence is to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Take some time to reflect on your past accomplishments and areas where you excel. It’s important to acknowledge your successes and recognize the skills and traits that make you unique.

I like to use a strengths based approach. I find out what I’m good at, and any similarities of this that can be found elsewhere. An easy example is something like cooking breakfast without burning it. Dont laugh!!! I’ve burned so much food in my life it’s incredible. But now that I now how to cook breakfast, I know that I can follow a process, I can improve on a process and I can tailor it to meet my needs. All that from cooking breakfast!!!

On the flip side, it’s also important to be aware of your weaknesses. However, don’t let them define you or hold you back. Instead, focus on areas where you can improve and make a plan to work on them.

Another key factor in building self-confidence is self-care. Taking care of your physical and mental health can do wonders for your confidence levels. Make sure to prioritize activities that bring you joy and relaxation, such as exercise, reading, or spending time with loved ones.

Another key one is to understand your value. By understanding your value and recognizing that you are valuable and important, you can start to build a positive mindset that empowers you to pursue your goals and dreams. Remember, you have unique skills, talents, and experiences that make you valuable and worthy of success. Embrace your strengths and use them to your advantage.

If you’re currently in paid employment then believe me, you’re more valuable than you think. If you were to leave tomorrow then the organisation will pay from it’s bottom line. Companies hate the thought of recruiting as it costs them in downtime (someone has to create Job Descriptions, cover your workload etc), recruitment process (these are tedious and there’s no guarantee they’ll get the right candidate) and training (you’ll have knowledge of the organisation’s people, processes and the subject matter and this takes time to learn).
